Kawasaki KX Junior Squad Members Finish on the Podium at Rounds 7 & 8 of the Australian Off-Road Championships

Two days of enduro racing in dry conditions were held in North Aratula for the 7th and 8th round of the Australian Off-Road Championships.

Round 7 was held on Saturday where Josh Brierley continued to race competitively on his KX250F as he took the win in the J3 class and managed to secure 3rd outright in the Junior class, his highest placing to date. Mitch Brierley also had a productive day staying smooth and fast on his Kawasaki KX85II, enabling him to claim 1st place in the J2 class for the day.

The same loops were raced on Sunday for the 8th round. After being roughed up from racing the day before, the circuit proved to be slightly more challenging. Josh Brierley replayed his results from the previous day, taking the win in the J3 class and again 3rd outright in the juniors. Mitch Brierley also had another great day putting away some fast times however he was beaten by 4 seconds to settle in 2nd position in the J2 class. After the weekends racing, both Kawasaki riders continue to lead their respective classes in the series.
The Brierley brothers will now begin training for the Hattah Desert race. Josh and Mitch are both looking forward to competing for their 5th year and are hoping to put their Kawasaki’s on the podium.

KX250F rider, Lyndon Snodgrass, struggled to find the pace he is capable of at the beginning of round 7, however he soon adapted to the technical track.

“Once I was more comfortable in the dust and gravel, I pushed my KX250F hard through all eight tests to stay consistent and finish 3rd for the day”, commented Lyndon.

In round 8, Lyndon managed to claim 2nd overall in the under 19’s class giving him the points he needed to take the overall lead in the series. “My first test started off a little slow taking the wrong line through a mud hole. The rest of my test times were consistent and I was happy to keep inside the top 20 outright. I'm wrapped to be leading the championship and very determined to stay up front coming into the next rounds!” said Lyndon.

Mitch Brierley, Josh Brierley and Lyndon Snodgrass are all looking forward to rounds 9 and 10 of the Australian Off-Road Championship held in Kyogle, NSW late next month.
